Tapioca Pearls

There’s nothing particularly exciting about tea: green tea, lemon tea, earl gray tea, etc. Boring, right? Right!

Well, if you’re tired of boring tea then bubble tea is a must! This is not your grandmother’s tea.  These teas come in exciting varieties and are loaded with flavor! Who would’ve ever thought that “exciting ” and “loaded with flavor” would be used to describe tea?!

Boba Tea

The tea is called bubble tea or boba tea because of the tapioca (boba) pearls added to the drinks.  The original idea comes from Taiwan, but local tea spots throughout the country have come up with their own variations of this traditional drink.  There are milk based teas, latte styled teas, fruit flavored teas and much more.  All of the drinks include boba or fruit jellies to give your tea that extra spunk, but if the jelly texture of the tapioca balls doesn’t excite your taste buds then opt for a tea sans the pearls.  Either way, the flavors are sure to be a pleasant change from mundane tea.  Look up local bubble tea spots in your area and try this tea with a twist!
